The Annie E. Casey Foundation’s annual Kids Count report has been tracking the welfare of children nationwide for more than 20 years. The report considers a myriad of issues from teen pregnancy and high school drop-out rates, to access to healthcare and family stability and income. This year’s numbers indicate Florida’s made some marked improvements in some areas, but overall the state ranks 36th in the nation. We’ll explore what Florida’s doing well when it comes to child welfare and where improvement is needed.
